Unified Parallel C: UPC

http://upc.lbl.gov/ Extensions to C to support distinctions between local and shared data structures, and pointers to them; for high performance computing on large-scale parallel machines, uniform programming model for shared and distributed memory. The Berkeley Unified Parallel C (UPC) Project is working to develop a high-performance, portable implementation of the UPC language. In addition to compiler development, we are also actively researching high-performance communication and parallel compiler optimizations, in addition to developing new UPC application benchmarks.
